An injection-molded plastic kit of the night version of the American observation and light attack aircraft OV-10 Bronco in the NOGS form, in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM. The model captures the experimental machine of the Night Observation Gunship System program with a lengthened nose, a sensor turret and an under-fuselage turret with a cannon. The package offers several marking options for these test aircraft.
The OV-10 Bronco was a twin-boom observation and light attack aircraft with a pair of turboprop engines, intended for forward air control, reconnaissance and direct support of ground units. The NOGS version arose by converting the machine for night combat: it received a lengthened nose with a turret containing a forward-looking infrared camera (FLIR) and a laser rangefinder, and under the fuselage a traversing turret with a three-barrel 20mm cannon, which was aimed precisely with the help of the FLIR system. It was an experimental proof of the ability to destroy targets at night.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the rich cockpit interior and the turret sensors before closing the fuselage. Put the under-fuselage turret with the cannon together carefully according to the instructions. Apply a primer before varnishing and lay the paints down with an airbrush. Mask the extensive cockpit glazing with its good field of view and fit it with canopy glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
