An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Beechcraft C18S light transport aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Ukrainian maker ICM. The kit offers a richly broken-down surface, separate clear parts for the cabin and the glazing, and a decal sheet with several civilian operators. The finished model has a wingspan of approximately 30 centimeters.
The Beechcraft Model 18, nicknamed the Twin Beech, is among the most successful and longest-produced aircraft in the history of aviation. It was a light twin-engine machine for six to eight passengers that first flew in 1937. The C18S version was built in large numbers during the war and after it ended many of these machines found work in civilian passenger and utility transport all over the world.
Paint and fit the glazed cabin and the interior before you close up the fuselage. The glossy civilian finishes typical of postwar transports go on best from an airbrush over a smoothly sanded and filled surface. A gloss coat under the decals is recommended, so that the markings adhere perfectly and look as if they were under the factory finish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
