Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Curtiss Hawk 81-A2 fighter in 1:48 from the maker Bronco. This is an early version of the P-40 line in the finish of the AVG volunteer group, that is of the legendary Flying Tigers. Besides plastic parts, this special release also contains photo-etched sheet, resin figures and a reproduction of a period cloth identification panel (a blood chit) for completing a scene.
The Curtiss Hawk 81-A2 was the export version of the early P-40 delivered to China. The American Volunteer Group (AVG) defended the skies of China and Burma with these machines at the start of the war in the Pacific. The characteristic painting of a shark mouth on the front of the engine cowling became one of the best-known aviation symbols of the Second World War. The rugged and fast aircraft excelled in a diving attack.
Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage, wash the resin figures free of mold release residue and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Join the plastic parts with a thin cement. For a true finish lay on a primer and then the camouflage scheme with an airbrush; fine-tune the shark mouth and the eyes by hand. Use a gloss varnish under the decals, at the end unify the surface with a flat varnish and add the wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories beyond the contents of the package are not part of the delivery.
