The set contains photo-etched metal vehicle width indicators for the German armored cars and half-tracked vehicles of the Sd.Kfz. 221, 222, 223, 231, 232, 234, 250 and 251 range in 1:48 scale. There are 6 pieces in the package. It is not a model but an accessory. The manufacturer is the Polish brand Aber.
The width indicators were thin folding rods mounted on the front fenders of German vehicles. They helped the driver judge the outer outline of the vehicle when driving in narrow spaces and in poor visibility. It is a small but characteristic detail that is missing on many models or is needlessly coarse in plastic. The photo-etched execution is incomparably finer and looks convincing.
Nip the parts out carefully and shape them if need be. Given the small dimensions, tweezers and gluing with cyanoacrylate drop by drop come in handy. Spray the metal with a primer before painting. The indicators were often painted in a contrasting color so that the driver could see them well.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
