A plastic kit of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Revell, in an edition tied to the Top Gun theme. The model builds as a classic Tomcat with movable variable-geometry wings, and the decals let you finish the machine in a film-flavored US Navy scheme.
The F-14A Tomcat was a two-seat carrier-based fighter and interceptor with a variable-sweep wing. It came about to defend the carrier groups of the US Navy at long range and made its name with a powerful radar and the ability to carry long-range guided missiles. Thanks to its unmistakable silhouette it is among the most iconic fighters of the Cold War.
This is a proven older tooling, so count on filling and sanding above all around the air intakes and the fuselage joints; a dry fit of the parts pays off. Paint the cockpit before closing it up and mask the clear parts. Spray the gray scheme with an airbrush and pick the panel lines out gently with a wash. Assemble the variable-geometry wing mechanism carefully, so that it can be positioned.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
