An injection-molded plastic kit of the anti-tank version of the Junkers Ju 88P-1 bomber in 1:48 from the manufacturer ICM. According to the manufacturer the box makes it possible to build two different machines, which differ from each other in the shape of the nose and in the muzzle brake of the large-caliber gun. The dominant feature of the model is the massive ventral gondola with the anti-tank gun.
The Ju 88P-1 came about by converting Ju 88 bombers into heavily armed anti-tank aircraft. A 75 mm gun derived from an anti-tank gun was built into the large ventral gondola, together with a loading system. The aim was to destroy Soviet armored vehicles on the Eastern Front. Only a small number of machines were built, and their use tested them in combat conditions in 1943.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the roomy cockpit and the interior of the gondola before closing the fuselage. Apply a primer before varnishing, ideally with an airbrush; it pays to mask the extensive cockpit glazing carefully. On Eastern Front schemes, blended camouflage and discreet wear on the leading edges and around the barrel work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
