An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet fighter Lavochkin LaGG-3 in 1:48 scale from the brand Zvezda, done as the 66th production series – the last and most refined variant of the type. It is a new tool; the box contains plastic sprues, clear cockpit parts and a decal sheet.
The LaGG-3 was a Soviet fighter of largely wooden construction (bonded laminated wood) with a liquid-cooled Klimov V engine. The 66th series of 1943 and 1944 was given aerodynamic refinements and weight savings thanks to which the maximum speed rose to roughly 590 km/h; the armament consisted of one 20 mm cannon and one heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. It was the last and most successful shape of the LaGG-3, built at the plant in Tbilisi.
Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic, sand the joints down and apply a primer before painting. Lay down the colors and the camouflage schemes with an airbrush; finish the cockpit and the interior before you join the fuselage halves. It is worth picking out the structure of the skin and the wear subtly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
