An injection-molded plastic model of the Japanese heavy bomber Mitsubishi Ki-21-Ia Sally in 1:48 scale from the production of the Ukrainian brand ICM. It is a sizeable twin-engine model with a richly glazed fuselage and a detailed interior. Sally was the Allied code designation of this type. The set offers decals for several marking variants of machines of the Japanese Army Air Force.
The Ki-21 was a twin-engine all-metal heavy bomber, designated with the Japanese Army Air Force as the Type 97 Heavy Bomber. It was fielded from the end of the 1930s and served on a number of fronts from China to the Pacific. The Ki-21-Ia version was one of the early production forms. The aircraft was distinguished by its long range, good bomb load and numerous crew.
Glue the parts with a liquid modeling cement for plastic; mask the extensive glazing of the fuselage and the gun positions carefully before painting. Paint and shade the interior and the gunners' positions before the fuselage is closed. Apply a base coat (a primer) before painting; the typical Japanese schemes will appreciate fine emphasis of the panels and discreet patina. Level the large surfaces of the wings and sand the joints.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
