Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter Supermarine Spitfire LF.IX in 1:48 scale from ICM, in the configuration of a Soviet Air Force machine. It is the low-altitude version of the Mk.IX with clipped wingtips and the armament of the E-type universal wing. The kit offers finely engraved surface detail, a well-worked cockpit, a clear canopy and decals for Soviet machines.
The Spitfire LF.IX was the low-altitude variant of the capable Mk.IX, powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin 60 series engine and optimized for combat at low and medium altitudes. The letter E in the wing designation means armament combining cannons and heavy machine guns. The British delivered hundreds of Spitfires to the Soviet Union, where they served with fighter units of the VVS. The clipped wingtips improved agility close to the ground.
Use thin cement for plastic and build in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Apply primer and lay the colors on with an airbrush. For Soviet schemes, highlighted panel lines and restrained wear work well. Protect the glazing with masks for clean edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
