Injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VII fighter in 1:48 scale from ICM. This is the high-altitude pressurized version of the Spitfire, which you can tell by the extended pointed wingtips and the four-blade propeller. The kit offers finely engraved surface detail, a well worked-out cockpit, a clear canopy part and decals for several marking options.
The Spitfire Mk.VII was a specialized high-altitude interceptor intended to fight German reconnaissance and bomber aircraft operating at great heights. It was fitted with a pressurized cabin, a Rolls-Royce Merlin 60-series engine with a two-stage supercharger and extended wingtips for better behavior in thin air. It is precisely the pressurized cabin and the high-altitude optimization that set the Mk.VII apart from the more common versions of the Spitfire.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Lay down a primer before the color coats and ideally apply the paints with an airbrush. Treat the canopy glazing with masks or clean it up carefully, so that the clear areas stay free of paint run.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
