Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen in 1:700 scale. The year in the name gives the state of the ship the model represents, that is the end of the Second World War, not the year she was launched. The box holds both the upper and the lower part of the hull and a waterline plate, so that a full-hull or a waterline build is possible, along with a display stand, a name plate and the shipboard aircraft Ar 196.
The Prinz Eugen was the last heavy cruiser of the Admiral Hipper class to enter Kriegsmarine service. Her main armament consisted of eight 20.3 cm guns in four twin turrets. The ship became famous for her sortie into the Atlantic alongside the battleship Bismarck in the spring of 1941 and, in 1942, for the dash through the English Channel together with the battlecruisers. At the end of the war she operated in the Baltic, where she supported ground units with her guns and covered the evacuation of refugees. She was the only heavy surface unit of the German fleet to come through the war intact.
Decide in advance whether you want the model on a stand or on the water. German ships at the end of the war wore a mostly gray scheme without pronounced camouflage, which makes a fine shading of the deck and picking out the seams show all the more. Mask off the wooden deck areas. Fit the gun barrels and the fine aerials only after the hull has been sprayed, and paint the shipboard aircraft separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
