Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American battleship USS California as she was in 1941, from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The model in 1:700 scale can be built as a full hull or in the waterline version with a waterline plate. The kit offers an engraved deck pattern, detailed superstructures, a pair of OS2U shipboard floatplanes, a deck crane, boats and photo-etched parts for the railings and other fine features. A display stand is included as well.
USS California (BB-44) was the second of the two battleships of the Tennessee class with turbo-electric drive. She was commissioned in 1921. During the attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 she was hit by Japanese torpedoes and settled onto the bottom of the harbor; thanks to the efforts of the crew she did not capsize, and the ship was raised again and repaired in 1942.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched railings with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Decide in advance between the full hull and the waterline version. Fit the fine masts and yards carefully; apply the paints with an airbrush over a primer and bring out the deck with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
