An injection-molded plastic kit of the American heavy cruiser USS Pittsburgh (CA-72) in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter, in her 1944 fit. The model can be built as a full hull or as a waterline version, and a base and a decal sheet are included. The finished model measures about 29.7 cm.
USS Pittsburgh was a unit of the Baltimore class, the American heavy cruisers of the Second World War period. She carried eight-inch main guns, five-inch dual-purpose armament, anti-aircraft guns and a crane with a scout floatplane. Pittsburgh served, among other places, in the operations off Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
Decide in advance on the full hull or the waterline version. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and the small and photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Treat it with primer and paint it with an airbrush; a period camouflage scheme and photo-etched railings will bring the model to life considerably.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
