Twelve resin ammunition boxes made by 3D printing: the American M2 box for 12.7 mm rounds for the Browning heavy machine gun, in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory, because the boxes belong with machine gun mounts, in the stowage on cargo beds, with crew figures and in diorama supply scenes. The count of 12 pieces is stated on the box. The parts are supplied unpainted and with the print supports in place.
The steel M2 box was introduced in September 1942 and replaced the earlier M17 and the aluminum M3, because aluminum was needed at that time for building aircraft. It takes an ammunition belt with 105 rounds of 12.7 mm, and the wire loop on the front wall allows it to be hung directly on the machine gun, which its predecessor did not permit. That is exactly why it appears not only in supply stacks but also on the weapons themselves, including mounts on vehicles and in aircraft.
Wash the resin in warm water with detergent and remove the print supports after warming in hot water. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After the primer spray the boxes in an olive color and add worn edges with graphite or with a dry brush. Small lettering is enough to suggest with a fine brush, and with a larger number of boxes the small differences in the wear of each piece will show.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
