Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German twin-engined night fighter Dornier Do 215B-5 in 1:72 scale from ICM. It is a good mold with fine engraved detail; the package contains clear plastic for the glazed nose and cockpit and decals for marking options. ICM is a Ukrainian manufacturer known for well-detailed aircraft models.
The Dornier Do 215 was an export development version of the Do 17 bomber. The Do 215B-5 variant was converted into a night fighter: it received an unglazed nose with gun armament and further equipment for night combat. It was used in the early days of the German night fighter defense against Allied raids. Because of their fully glazed cockpit and slim fuselage, machines of the Do 17 and Do 215 family were nicknamed the flying pencil.
Use liquid cement for plastic, and finish and paint the detailed cockpit interior before closing up the fuselage - on a night fighter it is clearly visible through the extensive glazing. Mask the frames for clean transitions. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors on with an airbrush; night schemes tend to be in dark shades, where restrained shading and fine weathering help.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
