An engine and exhaust set in 1:72 scale for a model of the Finnish Brewster B-239 Buffalo fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Brewster B-239 was the export version of the American Buffalo fighter delivered to Finland. It was powered by a radial engine, and in Finnish service the type earned a good name that it did not have elsewhere. The short, stubby fuselage with its large engine cowling makes the powerplant a conspicuous part of a model.
A replacement engine and exhausts for a Brewster model in 1:72 scale. The simplified part from the kit is replaced by a well-worked engine with defined cylinders, and exhaust pipes are added. On this type the engine is clearly visible behind the large opening in the cowling, so the difference shows at once. The range of parts and their assignment are given in the manufacturer's instructions, which you should also follow to determine what from the kit is left out.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary modeling cement for plastic has no effect on them. They are bonded with super glue. Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest off carefully, so that the mating surface is flat. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry, or the paint may not hold. The particular preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Before gluing, fit the engine cowling dry and check how deep the engine sits in the cowling and whether the exhausts come out in the right places.
The package contains only the parts of this set, that is the engine and the exhausts. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
