Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 (1:72, Italeri) is an injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary German fighter of the late Second World War, nicknamed the Dora.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the late version of the famous German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter with the lengthened nose. The model is made up of cleanly molded parts with finely engraved surface detail, it contains the pilot's cockpit, a clear canopy part and a decal sheet for finishing the model. The kit suits modelers who want to add one of the iconic Luftwaffe fighters to their collection in the popular small scale.
The Fw 190D version, nicknamed Langnasen-Dora, meaning long-nosed Dora, differed from the earlier A series with the BMW 801 radial by using the liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo 213 V engine. The longer nose and the characteristic annular radiator gave the aircraft a new silhouette and markedly better performance at high altitude. The Dora entered combat in the last year of the war as one of the highest-performing German fighters of its time.
Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic and sand the fuselage and wing joints carefully. Before painting, apply a primer, which evens out the surface and brings out the engraving. The camouflage schemes of the late Luftwaffe come out well when sprayed with an airbrush and then weathered; we recommend finishing the cockpit and the landing gear before closing the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
