Injection-molded plastic kit of the German Fokker Dr.I fighter triplane of the First World War in 1:72 scale from Revell. The box contains plastic sprues, a well worked-out cockpit with a control column and a seat, an engine and a set of waterslide decals for well-known color variants. Although this is a smaller model, the three lifting surfaces give the result a striking and unmistakable look.
The Fokker Dr.I was a German fighter triplane that went down in history above all as the machine of the ace Manfred von Richthofen, nicknamed the Red Baron. Three short wings stacked above one another gave the aircraft an excellent rate of climb and agility in close combat, albeit at the cost of lower speed. It was powered by a rotary engine and its armament was a pair of synchronized machine guns. It reached the front-line units in the second half of 1917 and became one of the icons of the air war.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, and paint the engine and the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. We recommend a primer and then an airbrush or a brush. With famous schemes such as the all-red machine of the Red Baron, take care to get an even, saturated shade. A triplane has fewer interplane struts than a classic biplane, yet it pays to suggest fine bracing wires and control cables with stretched sprue or fine thread.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
