Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British single-seat Hawker Tempest Mk.V fighter in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Airfix. This boxing concentrates on the Post War guise of the machine, that is on markings and finishes from the period just after the Second World War. The decal sheet offers several marking options. In 1:72 scale this is a conveniently compact model, suitable even for builders with limited space.
The Tempest came about by developing the Hawker Typhoon fighter further, with the aim of improving performance at high speed and handling at low altitude. It was given a thinner wing and became one of the most capable Allied fighter-bombers of the closing stages of the war. It excelled in high speed near the ground and became famous for successfully intercepting V-1 flying bombs. It was powered by the powerful Napier Sabre H-24 engine. After the war it went on serving with the British and with foreign air forces.
Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage, and mask the canopy glazing. Glue the plastic with thin cement for models, and sand the fuselage joints and the wing leading edges once they are mated. Bring out the bulky radiator under the fuselage and the engine exhausts with a fine wash. Apply the postwar finishes with an airbrush and lay the decals on a gloss varnish so that no silvering appears.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
