The plastic kit of the Ju 87 G-2 Kanonenvogel in 1:72 scale from manufacturer Italeri — the anti-tank version of the legendary Stuka.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German aircraft Junkers Ju 87 G-2 Kanonenvogel in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The kit is supplied unassembled, with a decal sheet; according to the manufacturer, it offers markings for aircraft from the later phase of the war.
The Junkers Ju 87 is the legendary German dive bomber nicknamed the Stuka, known for its siren during a dive. The G-2 Kanonenvogel version (gun bird) is a very different role, however — it was a tank destroyer with two large 37 mm cannons in gondolas under the wings, deployed mainly on the Eastern Front against armored vehicles. The G-2 was based on a later Stuka version with a longer wingspan. The famous pilot Hans-Ulrich Rudel also flew this type. The combination of a famous subject and unusual anti-tank armament makes for a rewarding model.
Glue with thin liquid cement for plastic. Finish and paint the cockpit first, then close up the fuselage. Cut the cannon gondolas and the thin landing gear parts away carefully to avoid breakage. Mask the cockpit glazing before spraying. We recommend a primer and an airbrush. Follow a period-correct German camouflage scheme — check the exact shades in the instructions; a typical pattern is an upper camouflage with a lightened underside. Highlight the panel lines with a wash, add exhaust stains and light operational grime. Apply the decals over a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
