Airfix 1:72 Junkers Ju87 B-1 Stuka is a plastic kit of the German dive bomber from the start of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German dive bomber in the B-1 version, in 1:72 scale, from the British brand Airfix. It is the best-known shape of the type, that is the one from the first years of the war with its angular forms and inverted gull wing. The number of parts and the number of marking schemes are not stated by the manufacturer.
The Ju 87 Stuka was an aircraft built for a single task: to drop a bomb accurately from a dive. It had fixed landing gear in streamlined fairings, an inverted gull wing in the shape of an inverted W and airbrakes, without which the aircraft would have broken up in a dive or could not have been pulled out of it. The B-1 version was the first widely built form and served in Poland, Norway, France and over Britain, where, though, it ran into its own limit: without air superiority it was an easy target. Sirens on the landing gear legs are a characteristic part of it.
The inverted gull wing needs to be seated well, so that both halves are at the same angle; try it dry and check from the front. Glue the glazed canopy on only after the fuselage has been finished, and complete the interior beforehand. German schemes of that period have hard edges between the shades, so masking pays off; lay the yellow markings on the nose and the rudders over a gloss base. The landing gear fairings and the sirens are small parts that are easily lost, so set them aside in advance.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
