An injection-molded plastic kit of the American F-117 stealth aircraft in 1:72 scale from Revell. It is assembled from plastic sprues, clear canopy parts and a decal sheet. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk was the first production combat aircraft designed deliberately for reduced radar visibility. Its unmistakable faceted shape, made up of flat surfaces that deflect radar waves, was created in secrecy and the public knew nothing about the aircraft for a long time. The F-117 was used for precision strikes on heavily defended targets and became famous in the conflicts of the late twentieth century. Despite the fighter designation it was in fact an attack aircraft carrying guided munitions in internal bays.
The faceted fuselage calls for careful filling and cleaning up of the joints so that the sharp edges stay straight. The model is painted flat black, against which fine panel lines picked out with a dark wash stand out well. Glue the canopy glazing with cement for clear parts and mask it while painting. An airbrush will give the even matte surface typical of the real aircraft.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
