This injection-molded plastic kit from Trumpeter represents the two-seat trainer version of the Russian MiG-29UB fighter (NATO code name Fulcrum) in 1:72 scale. The box contains plastic parts and decals that let you build either a Russian or a Polish aircraft.
The MiG-29UB is the two-seat trainer version of the widely used MiG-29 fighter with a tandem cockpit, in which both the pupil in front and the instructor behind have full control of the aircraft. Compared with the combat version it has no nose radar and serves for basic and advanced pilot training; the instructor's rear seat is slightly raised for a better view. The type spread to the air forces of the many countries that operated the MiG-29, and a number of them use it to this day. It kept the characteristic aerodynamics and the pair of engines of the basic version.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and use a base coat of primer before painting. Mask the long double canopy carefully, because it is a prominent feature on the model. An airbrush and fine masking of the transitions suit the typical mottled schemes; the metal engine nozzles will stand out in dark shades with light weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
