Sukhoi Su-2R 1:72 is a plastic kit of the Soviet single-engine reconnaissance aircraft of the early Second World War from ICM.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the reconnaissance version of the Soviet Su-2 light bomber in 1:72 scale. The set holds parts in gray plastic, a clear sprue for the canopy glazing and a decal sheet. The model is neither painted nor glued; to finish it you will need cement for plastic and paints.
The Sukhoi Su-2 was a Soviet single-engine low-wing monoplane with a radial engine, designed in the second half of the 1930s as a light bomber and reconnaissance machine. The reconnaissance form served for long-range observation and for directing artillery fire. The aircraft was deployed in the first years of the fighting on the Eastern Front, when it played a part in tactical reconnaissance and light bombing.
Liquid cement for plastic works well, and it pays to clean up the mold seams before building. Paint the cockpit and the interior before closing the fuselage. Apply primer for an even base and spray the covered surfaces with an airbrush; the Soviet scheme usually keeps a green upper surface and a light underside. Apply the decals over a gloss coat and fix them with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
