This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Zvezda represents the contemporary Russian Typhoon-K armored vehicle. The model is made up of a fair number of plastic parts and is completed by rubber tires; the decal sheet offers Russian markings. It is a rewarding subject for collectors of modern vehicles and for dioramas of present-day conflicts.
The Typhoon-K is a modern wheeled armored vehicle of the MRAP class, that is a machine with increased resistance to mines and ambushes. In a 6x6 configuration it serves as an armored personnel carrier for moving a squad of soldiers with their equipment and provides protection against small arms fire and mine blasts. The vehicle has been in service with the Russian armed forces since the second half of the last decade and has been deployed in operations abroad.
Clean the parts up and dry-fit them, and use thin modeling cement on the plastic. Paint the rubber tires separately from the hull. Apply a filler primer before painting; modern Russian vehicles usually carry a single-color or two-color finish, which comes to life with fine washes in the recesses and mild dustiness on the chassis.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
