The higher version of the aluminum alloy sanding board. The board serves as a rigid carrier for abrasive paper and guarantees that the face being sanded stays flat. Against simple plates this variant has a longer handle, so it is held more firmly and the stroke can be guided evenly along its whole length, which tells on longer seams.
According to the manufacturer the working face measures roughly twenty-five by seventy-five millimeters and the handle is about ninety millimeters long. The surface is blasted and anodized, so it does not corrode and abrasive paper holds on it better than on smooth metal. One side is smooth, the other has a toothed finish that increases the bite during coarser sanding.
The board is for modelers who sand longer seams and larger faces and want a tool that sits firmly in the hand. For small parts and cramped places the smaller plates are suitable. Abrasive papers are not included in the package.
It pays to change the paper on the board before it is completely clogged. A blocked abrasive burnishes the surface, so you have the feeling of working while the face is no longer being leveled. Do not breathe in the sanding dust from plastic and resin; work with extraction or at least with a respirator.
