A printed ejection seat for the model of the A-1J aircraft in 1:48 scale. It replaces the seat from the kit and sharpens the view into an open cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was a single-engine piston attack aircraft with a propeller, built for service from the deck of an aircraft carrier. It entered service only after the Second World War, and thanks to the large load of bombs and rockets it could carry, and its ability to stay over the battlefield for a long time, it served even at a time when jets were flying around it. The letter at the end of the A-1J designation distinguishes the individual versions of this type.
The set replaces the ejection seat from the kit in 1:48 scale. The seat is the most visible thing in an open cockpit and tends to be the first place a viewer notices, so replacing it shows in the result more than most other changes. The word PRINT in the name marks the printed version of the part. The exact contents of the package and the installation procedure are given in the manufacturer instructions.
Printed parts are held during production by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the remainder, so that no hollow appears in the shape. The material is not polystyrene, so solvent cement for plastic will not hold; use super glue. Wash and degrease the part before painting, as paint holds badly on a greasy surface. First test-fit the seat dry in the cockpit opening and only then glue it permanently, because once the fuselage is closed it can no longer be moved.
This is an add-on set for a model. The aircraft kit, paints, glue and seat belts are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
