Arrakis Brown is a paint from the Acrylic Color range by Green Stuff World, that is a water-based acrylic made for fantasy figures and gaming table models. It is thinned with water or an acrylic thinner, cleaned with water, and it is not mixed with varnishes or with oil paints. The name of the shade points to a desert setting and the color group matches it: a lighter brown tuned toward sand.
A figure painted faultlessly but standing on a roughly sprayed base looks unfinished. Sandy brown deals with exactly that transition. The proven procedure: lay a base coat over the base, let it dry, go over it with a dark wash so that the texture of sand and stone sinks into shadow, and finally pass a dry brush with almost no paint left on it over the raised parts. Then apply the same shade lightly to the lower part of the boots and the hem of the figure's cloak, and the impression arises that it really has been moving through that dust. This single step lifts the look of a whole unit on the table more than another hour of work on a cloak.
For players building an army on a consistent desert base, and for diorama builders for whom an earthy brown is the basic working color of terrain. It is applied with a brush and, once thinned, with an airbrush as well; try the ratio on a test piece beforehand.
Shake thoroughly before use. Store closed, protect from frost and keep out of the reach of children.
