Bestial Brown is the shade a modeler reaches for every time a figure brings up tanned leather. Belts, scabbards, saddles, quivers, pouches or the wrapping of a grip get a firm middle base, on which brightening with beige tones only then begins to work. The same tone serves as the lower coat under the rusty areas of equipment and as the middle value of brown fur.
The binder is acrylic and thins with ordinary water, so the brushes only need rinsing right after the work is finished. The coat dries matte, without a single glossy spot, and because the shade is densely pigmented, it covers a dark base as a rule in two thin coats. The whole line was built above all for a brush, but after thinning it passes through the nozzle of an airbrush as well.
Inside the bottle there are seventeen milliliters of paint and with it a metal ball, which on shaking gets the pigment settled at the bottom moving. The dropper cap allows the contents to be measured out in drops straight onto the palette, so nothing is spilled or dries up needlessly in a cup.
What turns a flat brown into leather is only the procedure: a coat over the whole area, a dark wash pulled into the folds and the edges pulled out with a dry brush with a pinch of a sandy color. The difference between a new strap and a worn saddle is then tuned only by how far the light transition goes.
