Acrylic Color CARNAGE RED

Acrylic Color Carnage Red - an acrylic paint for figures

Carnage Red is a dark red pitched toward wine from the Acrylic Color figure line of the Spanish brand Green Stuff World. It is an acrylic thinnable with water, so the brushes are washed out in water and the paint combines without trouble with other acrylics. The line came about for wargaming and fantasy figures, not for scale modeling, and that shows in the choice of shades: this one is among those you can make out on a gaming table even from seated height.

Where it suits and how to work with it

• Cloaks, tunics, banners and other large areas of color by which a unit is recognized on the table.
• An accent color for a whole army: one shade repeated on small details of every figure binds even an otherwise varied collection together.
• It thins with water or with an acrylic thinner. Neither lacquer nor cellulose thinner belongs in an acrylic.
• Shake the bottle well before use, because the pigment settles to the bottom.
• With a larger batch, paint the same element on all the figures one after another, as the hand keeps its rhythm and the shade comes out the same across the whole unit.

Who the paint is for

For a player who paints dozens of figures into a playable army and needs a quick and repeatable method, and for a collector who mixes red into tones of their own. It will also serve on fantasy busts, gaming accessories and small scenic elements. Once finished, a figure that is going to be played with is worth going over with a protective varnish.

The paint is a water-thinnable acrylic. Keep out of reach of children, ventilate during longer work and close the bottle carefully after use, so that the content does not dry up.
