A water-based acrylic from Green Stuff World for figures and gaming models. It thins with water, dries quickly and takes further coats. According to the name this is a very light, mist-pale gray, that is a shade from the upper end of the range.
A purely white highlight on a figure hardly ever sits right. White is an end value and the eye reads it as a blown-out spot, as a place where the color is simply missing. A very light gray does the same work and leaves the surface its material. A practical method: build a range of four steps in fixed ratios. The base shade, the base with a proportion of light gray of roughly one to four, one to one, and finally almost pure light gray only on the narrowest edges and the highest points. The fourth step is applied with the tip of the brush in a thin line, and the narrower the line, the sharper the impression of light. When you use the same gray to mix the highlights of various base colors, the whole model takes on the impression of a single source of light, because all the highlights have a component in common. That is the trick that holds an army together visually better than any single figure can.
For players and modelers who work with a range and want highlights that do not look like a burnt-out white patch. Shake the bottle well before use.
