A stencil for spraying with an airbrush, intended for repeating a pattern on a model, on buildings in a scene and on bases.
Responsibility details are not available.
A repeated pattern is among the most laborious things a modeler faces in painting. Whether it is a regular texture over an area, a net of small shapes or a motif that is to be repeated several times side by side, drawing it by hand with a brush takes evenings and it still usually shows that it was made one piece at a time. A stencil cuts that work down to a few minutes: the paint goes through the cut-outs only and the edge stays crisp.
A stencil is not tied to a single model. You will use it on the large surfaces of vehicles and aircraft, on the walls of buildings in a scene, on the boards of bases and on backdrops behind a model. It also serves well in making up surfaces where the pattern is only suggested and then covered with further coats of paint, pigments and dirt, so that barely a visible texture is left of it.
Always work on a surface that has dried through. Hold the stencil so that it lies flat over its whole area and lay the paint on in short bursts at low pressure. The coat should be thin: the more paint at once, the more likely it is to creep under the edge. Clean the stencil when you have finished, before the paint dries, and store it flat so that it does not ripple. The motif of the cut-outs, the size of the sheet and the recommended use are given by the manufacturer.
A stencil is supplied. Paints, a model and an airbrush are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
