Take care when choosing: AK Interactive has a second, differently conceived treatment of the character Airtis as well, and that is a separate casting, not the same figure, so go by the full name.
A battle treatment means above all gear for a painter: plates, joints, a weapon and hard edges that highlight well. At 54 mm size there is enough room on these elements to work with wear on them rather than treat them as a flat area of color. The particular form of the armament is not stated here.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw leaving a margin and sand the area back; on armor parts take care not to round the sharp edges off while sanding, because it is those that carry the expression. Take the seams off with a scalpel, putty the gaps and glue with super glue. After the primer, work on the metal from a dark base toward polished edges. Wear is well done by stippling with a piece of foam sponge dipped in a small amount of paint, where less is more, because chipping belongs mainly on corners and exposed places. Bring the hollows and joints out with a dark wash, which pulls the detail together, and wipe the excess off before it dries. Even the surface out at the end with a matte varnish and bring the shine back deliberately only on blade edges and scuffed places.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
