A Hataka modeling paint from the Orange Line range, the shade Atlantic Grey referring to the Federal Standard 36187.
Responsibility details are not available.
Atlantic Grey is a gray shade tied to the number 36187 from the American Federal Standard. A reference to a standard is more practical for a modeler than the name alone: by the number you can compare the shade across brands and see when two differently named paints aim at the same thing. The number in this standard moreover begins with a three, which in its notation corresponds to a flat finish of the reference sample.
Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before use, settled pigment will otherwise show as uneven coverage. Choose thinner and thinning ratio according to the instructions of the manufacturer given on the packaging, ideally the thinner intended for this range. Spray several light coats with a short pause between them; a single heavy coat fills the engraving and rounds off the edges of the panels. Degrease the substrate before spraying and on a smooth surface use a primer.
Gray shades tied to the Federal Standard serve above all on military aircraft, where the paint tends to be specified by exactly this number. You can use them anywhere you need a precisely defined gray, though, so on vehicles, on accessories or on a display base as well. Try the shade on an offcut before you touch the model: how a gray reads is strongly changed by the lighting and by the gloss of the top coat.
The package contains one bottle of paint in the shade given. Thinner, brushes and the model are not included, unless stated otherwise. Store the bottle well closed and protect it from frost.
