A paint from the ATOM COLOR modeling range from AMMO of Mig Jimenez. Its name defines its use: rubber parts and tires, one of the few cases where it makes sense to reach for a shade mixed exactly for the job instead of mixing it from an ordinary palette.
A real tire is not black, even though that is how memory stores it. In daylight, with a layer of dust and a surface worn by use, it comes close to a very dark gray. On a scale model that difference is amplified: a deep black swallows the shadows and the tire becomes a dark blot on which neither the shape of the tread nor the transition to the sidewall can be seen. A shade intended for rubber avoids that trap and lets the relief show.
The manufacturer gives the thinner, the thinning ratio and the recommended procedure on the packaging; every range has a different composition, so keep to those instructions. Stir the paint thoroughly before use, otherwise the pigment stays at the bottom and both the shade and the covering power will be different. Apply it in several light coats. Paint tires and rubber parts separately, while you can still turn them freely, and only then fit them to the model. Close the bottle carefully after work and wipe the neck.
Thinner, brushes and other materials are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
