The largest of the three fine sizes: a head 0.7 mm in diameter, a half-round shape, a six-lobe recess.
Responsibility details are not available.
0.7 mm is still an insignificant size to the touch, but among the finest sizes it is already a noticeable step. In 1:12 it matches a head of roughly eight and a half millimeters, which on a real machine tends to be a joint of the frame, of the engine covers or of the mounting of an exhaust header. On a model it therefore suits wherever the structure is meant to look sturdy and to carry a load.
The designer chooses the size according to the load, not according to the look. Around the cylinder head and in the mounting of the swingarm you will come across markedly stronger elements than on plastic covers, where a small screw into a sheet-metal nut is enough. Anyone who keeps this difference on a model gains the impression of a real structure; a uniform size, by contrast, gives away that it is mere decoration with no technical logic. A photograph of the real machine tends to be more reliable in deciding than a guess at the desk.
Pieces of this size have a habit of springing away and disappearing, so it works well to work over a shallow dish or over a piece of light-colored cloth. A moistened pointed toothpick serves for carrying them and holds a piece better than metal tweezers. Try the hole beforehand on an offcut of sprue from the kit: an element that fits correctly holds by friction alone and the glue then plays only a securing role. It pays to go over the finished joint with matte varnish, because the glossy surface of small pieces draws attention away from the rest of the build.
