A diameter of 1.1 mm, a low spread head with a straight slot, for replacing coarsely molded details on models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The molds of kits manage only a limited depth of shape, so the heads of the joints on the surface of a part tend to be molded as shallow discs with no slot and no edge. Exchanging them for a real metal element 1.1 mm in diameter is one of the least demanding interventions by which the age of a mold can be masked.
Cut the disc off with a new blade guided flat, in a pull toward yourself, and level the rest with a fine-grained sanding sponge. Do not hurry to the bit: as long as the surface is not level, the bit runs off to the side across the remains of the raised shape and the hole ends up off the axis.
Before cutting them off, note the position of the discs, ideally with a photograph of the part or by tracing them onto tape. Once you have sanded the surface the reference points are gone, and an estimated position differs from the drawing by as much as half a millimeter, which at this diameter is half the head.
If you decide to leave some of the discs, count on them looking flat next to a metal neighbor. Either replace them all in one group or none at all; an unfinished exchange is more conspicuous than the original state.
Finally, a practical note on time: cutting off, sanding and drilling one group of eight discs takes about half an hour. Add it to the budget of the build, so that you do not set about the exchange at the last moment before finishing.
