A flange bolt has a widened collar under its hex head which seats on the surface instead of a washer. On a model it is recognized by exactly that: the head does not sit directly on the surface but lifts above it and casts a fine shadow around itself. On a motorcycle such joints are found on engine covers, on the exhaust mounting and on brake calipers, that is where they are exposed and nobody covers them. An injection mold can only suggest a shallow hex, which blends into its surroundings once painted.
The size range is 0.5 to 0.7 mm, that is the finest end of the selection. Such sizes suit places where a coarser bolt would look out of proportion. The parts are not tied to a particular kit or scale; all that decides is whether the size matches the joint on the model. Before installing, therefore, hold the part against the piece and compare it with the surrounding shapes, not with a scale figure.
First level the surface under the head so that the collar seats fully; a bolt set askew is more conspicuous on a finished model than one that is missing. Mark the spot with the point of a needle, carry the part with tweezers and add the cyanoacrylate glue only at the place of installation, with the tip of a wire. If you apply it to the part itself, the surplus spreads around the collar and dries like a puddle. Work over a light, smooth surface; a bolt of this size is practically unfindable once it falls on a carpet.
