The heaviest grade of this family, a head diameter of 1.2 mm. The only one with which a brush can be used without worry.
Responsibility details are not available.
In this numerical series 1.2 mm is the ceiling and at the same time the only size with which hand application is worth considering. The face of the head is large enough for the trace of the bristles to level out before it can dry, and a ridge at the rim does not form as easily as with the smaller diameters. Even so, a sprayer gives a more even surface.
Once dry, a dark thinned mixture is drawn into the recess in the head and the surplus is wiped off the high points. The shape thereby stands out again, even though a layer of paint has partly filled it. This step matters more with hardware than with large surfaces: the eye looks for the shape of the groove, and as soon as that disappears the component looks like a mere round blob.
A heavier grade stands up to handling better, but it also protrudes more, so it is more easily scuffed against the tweezers. Working over a soft surface and fitting the finished part only at the very end are recommended.
The package consists of a head with a shank, a nut to go with it and a flat washer. The neighboring grades of the family have the same make-up and only the diameter changes. During a build it pays to lay the components out on a light surface with a rim, because a nut of this size, once dropped, is found only with great difficulty and there may be no spare left in the package.
The last piece of advice concerns storing the leftover pieces. Small components of this kind are better left in a sealable bag than loose in a box, where they get mixed in among the other metal stock and cease to be distinguishable by size.
