Small imitations of a bolt with a hex head and a large washer in the 0.5 mm size. They are among the finest sizes offered for this kind of accessory.
Compared with a bare head it has a ring around it which separates from the surface by a shadow of its own and visually widens the whole joint. Such joints appear on the subject where the thread goes into thin sheet metal or into a softer material and the head needs a larger mating surface. An injection mold can manage them at best as a shallow circle with a bump in the middle, which blends into its surroundings once painted.
Half a millimeter is at the limit of what the eye can tell unaided, so a magnifier or head optics come in useful. Lay the parts out on a light surface with a rim and take them with fine-tipped tweezers, or on the moistened tip of a toothpick. Sand the surface under the joint flat; at this size a tilted washer is spotted at once. Apply cyanoacrylate glue in a really minute amount with the tip of a wire at the place of installation, because even a small surplus floods the part and the shape of the head disappears.
The parts are easier to paint before installing, for instance stuck to double-sided tape; a brush reaches a finished joint less easily and a thick layer of paint fills the fine hex. Install them, therefore, rather after the surrounding surface has been sprayed. The model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
