In the world of Japanese robot kits the designation funnel is used for the small detachable modules that separate from a machine and move independently. This set offers them as a standalone accessory: you attach them to a model you already have, or make them part of a composition of your own. The material is plastic colored right through and the joints are handled by snapping into place, so neither glue nor paints are needed for assembly.
The effect is mainly in the arrangement
Small modules look best when they are not stacked symmetrically. Try arranging them in an irregular arc, or leave them only partly detached from the body; the composition gains movement that way. If you want to suspend them in space, reckon with clear supports or a small stand, which have to be dealt with separately.
Pre-colored parts can be used straight away. Anyone who wants to can set them apart from the main model with a metallic shade or a dark rim around the thrusters; on small parts very little is enough. Degrease the plastic before painting and, once finished, unify the surface with a varnish matched to the sheen of the rest of the group.
