A modeling stock material from the Polish manufacturer Aber. The package contains three brass round rods of 1.2 mm diameter and 250 mm length. It is neither a kit nor a finished detail but a material for making your own parts. Compared with the thinner diameters, this thickness is better suited where the part is to be stressed: axles, pins, load-bearing mandrels and the reinforcement of longer slender elements.

Use

• Axles, pins and mandrels for joining parts or for a movable mounting

• A basis for scratchbuilding your own accessories and diorama elements

How to work with the material

Divide it with nippers or a fine saw and level the ends with a file. The thicker diameter offers more resistance when bending, so bend it gradually around a cylindrical shape, ideally with the help of pliers with smooth jaws. It is joined with super glue, epoxy or solder. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a base coat, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth metal.
