Consumable abrasive belts for the Flex-i-file frame sander in a fine form. They are intended for the last stage of preparing a surface, when material is no longer being taken off and only the scratches from coarser sanding are being smoothed away.
The abrasive belt is tensioned between the arms of a springy frame. Squeezing the frame releases the belt and it can be bowed into a curve, so that it follows the rounded shape of a part; when the squeeze is released it tensions again and behaves like a flat sanding face. Thanks to that you can reach places sandpaper on a flat backing cannot get to, that is leading edges, fuselage transitions, inside curves and narrow gaps between parts.
For modelers who use the Flex-i-file sander and need to make up their consumables. Sand with light pressure and a longer stroke, because bearing down clogs the grit quickly and leaves grooves on the surface. Check the shape of the part against the light as you go, as fine sanding is easy to overdo.
