A green shade from the Orange Line range by Hataka, listed under the name Lichen Green and the reference BS 4800 12 B 25. The name points to the color of lichen, that is to a green with a muted, rather natural character than to a lush meadow. Muted green tones come into their own on a model where the surface is meant to look dusty or older, and they take a wash and dry brushing well, because the difference between a recess and an edge stays visible on them.
BS 4800 is the British Standard for paint shades. Every shade in it has a three-part code: the first part places the color in a group by hue, the letter expresses the degree of greyness and the last number distinguishes shades within the group. The reference is unambiguous, so you can use it to compare the paint with another range even when the shade has a quite different name in it.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before working, as the pigment settles at the bottom when it stands. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging. Lay it on in thin coats and let them flash off between passes; one heavy coat floods the fine surface detail and dries unevenly. Wash and degrease the surface of the parts beforehand and go over them with a primer, so that the green covers the same way on plastic as on metal and resin accessories.
The thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
