A Hataka modeling paint from the Orange Line range, a green shade to the British BS 381C standard, number 285.
Responsibility details are not available.
BS NATO Green is a dark green that the British BS 381C standard lists under number 285. It is a muted tone shifted toward gray with no hint of brightness, the exact opposite of signal colors: it is meant to blend into vegetation and shadow. The abbreviation IRR in the designation belongs to the real finish, where reflectance in the infrared band is tracked alongside the color itself.
The green to BS 381C 285 is established as the basic green used by NATO armies and appears on armored and truck vehicles, on equipment and on workshop gear. It also works as a base layer for a multicolor camouflage scheme to which brown and black areas are then added. The reference to the standard has practical value: with the number you can match the same shade a year later.
The Orange Line range is aimed at modelers who build military vehicles and want a shade backed by a standard. Unless stated otherwise, a single bottle of paint is supplied; a brush, thinner and a model are not included in the package. The volume of the bottle and the drying time are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
