An ink from the Candy Ink range in an amber orange shade. Inks differ from opaque paints in that they do not cover the base: they tint it and let it show through, so the resulting tone arises only from the ink and whatever is underneath acting together. The word Candy is used in finishing for exactly such translucent shades, which are applied over a glossy, usually metallic base.
On a glossy metal base, where it turns an ordinary silver surface into a warm golden metal. Further on toning clear parts, on bringing out the heated areas of exhausts and on small surfaces where a color is to be saturated but not clouded. Over a white base the shade comes out brightest, over a dark one it darkens and loses its glow, so the choice of base decides the result more than the number of coats.
Shake the bottle before work. Apply in thin coats and build the saturation gradually; every further coat deepens the shade and it cannot be taken back off. A translucent paint reveals every brush stroke, so on larger areas an airbrush and a smooth, well-prepared base pay off. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. Rinse the tools immediately after work and let the finished surface cure thoroughly before you varnish it. Try the shade beforehand on a piece of plastic with the same base you want to use on the model.
The delivery contains the shade named. The model, thinner, brushes and varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
