The ruins of statues work more strongly on a diorama than a whole building. A broken face in the grass suggests that something once stood here and someone pulled it down, and leaves the rest of the story to the viewer. This set builds on exactly such a scene: it offers the remains of Celtic sculpture as a traveler would have found them centuries later.
Altogether there are eleven castings in the package.
The parts are of good-quality resin and are supplied without paint. Before the build they are washed in lukewarm soapy water, so that the residue of the mold release agent disappears; otherwise the primer would hold only in places. Smaller burrs are easily pared off with a scalpel, larger areas only need sanding.
Stone looks convincing when a dark wash gets into the cracks under the dry brush. It is advisable to work from the darkest color to the lightest and to pick out the tops of the edges only at the end. The parts can be sunk into the terrain so that they look half buried, or placed around a path. The set suits figures 25, 28 and 35 mm in size; using it together with a texture roller with the same Celtic motif is an option too.
