Dark Polish Khaki is a dark khaki shade from the Hataka Orange Line modeling range. Khaki is an earthy color between brown and green that military vehicles and equipment have worn since the beginning of the twentieth century, because it does not contrast with the surroundings in the field. This shade sits in the darker part of the scale, so large areas do not look washed out once dry.
The thinner and the thinning ratio follow the instructions given by the manufacturer on the packaging; use the thinner intended for this range, because a foreign solvent can curdle the coat or leave it dull. Stir the bottle thoroughly before every use so that the settled pigment goes back into the paint, otherwise the shade will shift between the first pass and the last. The most even coat comes from an airbrush and several light passes with the paint left to flash off in between.
Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand and give it a primer; on bare smooth plastic the coat holds worse and lifts when the masks are peeled off. Cover sharp camouflage transitions with masks applied before spraying, and spray a soft transition from a shorter distance and at reduced pressure. When working with a brush, lay down thin coats and do not go back over an area that has started to set. Test the final shade on an offcut first, because after drying and after a clear coat it looks different than it does in the bottle.
Thinner, brushes, masks and airbrushes are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
