A deck sheet replaces the area of the deck that a kit renders with a uniform surface. The planks and the gaps between them are formed by the material of the sheet itself, so the surface does not read as painted plastic. This sheet belongs among the wooden decks for ship models and in the name is told apart by the letter D and by the figure for the blue shade of the deck.
The name carries the designation of the sheet and its color finish. The scale, the dimensions and the kit the sheet is cut for are given on the box and in the manufacturer's data. Check from them which model the sheet fits; with deck sheets that is the decisive figure, because the cutouts are made to measure for a particular model.
The blue shade matches ships whose decks did not stay in the natural color but were painted. On a model such a sheet behaves differently from natural veneer: the colored area is more continuous and the pattern of the planks stands out on it more subtly, so it pays to allow for that when choosing the shade of the rest of the ship.
The ship model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The extent of the package and the way it is fixed are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
