A Hataka modeling paint from the Orange Line range in the Dunkelgelb shade, that is, in dark yellow, referred to the standardized RAL 7028 shade.
Responsibility details are not available.
Dunkelgelb is the German name for dark yellow. In the later part of the Second World War it was the base shade in which German military vehicles left the factory: it was not a camouflage scheme in itself but a base over which units added patches of green and brown, often by hand and right in the field. That is why one machine differs from the next and why Dunkelgelb is a shade no collection of German vehicles of the period can do without. The number RAL 7028 in the name points to the standardized color chart in which this dark yellow is carried.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use so that settled pigment is mixed in; with opaque shades it settles markedly and the paint otherwise drifts into a different tone. Choose the thinner intended for this range and keep the thinning ratio as the manufacturer states on the packaging. Apply several thin coats with drying time between them, because one heavy coat fills the engraving and wipes out the fine relief. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand, as the finish beads up on greasy plastic.
The paint suits modelers of German ground vehicles of the Second World War, whether as an overall finish or as a base under patchy camouflage. It will serve in any scale, because it is a paint in its own right, not a set tied to a particular model.
The paint is supplied on its own. The thinner, brushes and kits are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
